Although it captured compelling views of the Stone Arch Bridge, this Minneapolis residence wore a nondescript, “condo maple” interior. We reimagined the space for better function and sightlines to the Mississippi River, alongside ample display opportunities for the client’s distinguished collection of decorative arts. The renovation beautifully captures the Golden Age of Travel, drawing on Streamline–Moderne and Art Deco styles for inspiration.
Preservation
Storage is bountiful and beautiful.
The new design offers a celebratory setting for the prominent display of the owner’s museum-quality collections of early-20th-century decorative arts.
Considerable sleuthing and planning allowed for plumbing to be moved, often an impossibility in condo remodeling projects. This affords an opening to an incredible view of the Mississippi River.
